After all these years finally an introduction

Hey Guys,

I actually realized that I never introduced myself here although I have been lurking around here for quite a while. (I am doing this in English as I don't know how many people know Dutch and my French is non-existent).

My name is Pieter and I live in The Netherlands. I started the arcade hobby somewhere in 2012 by accident. I always loved arcade machines but forgot about them until I found Nozomi.nl looking for airhockey locations to play. It ignited my arcade love and as of then been buzy with it and loving it.

The line-up I have is a New Astro City, Naomi Universel Mame sitdown for Shmups, MVS Woody and just recently bought a new project sitdown racer to switch it into a Outrun 2 (SP?).

Furthermore early this year I have started to put arcade location on a map globally to get everyone of their couches and start enjoying games as it was intended, with family and friend and experience games, not just play them. So far I managed with input of the arcade community to map 165 locations and counting so if you have any additions please let me know. Last but not least I am a husband and a father of 2 sons. I have too many hobby and too little time so I am trying to reduce these to spend more time on the remaining hobbies like Arcade!

This is how we started our website 12 years ago, by listing all places hosting arcade games in Belgium: http://www.arcadebelgium.be/ab.php?r=loc&p=list

We limited the scope to Belgium because we thought we couldn't monitor all locations if we included other countries. Unfortunately, we never fully developed the location database the way I envisioned it.
But the idea of promoting arcades games grew to a whole new level throughout the years with keeping up with the latest news, selling and renting new arcade machines to operators (preferably brand new titles players can enjoy for the first time), bringing arcade games at conventions and parties, ... While still a hobby, it's eating all our free time but I don't regret it! We support a noble cause. Seeing first time players discovering and enjoying arcade games is very rewarding!

I saw you already have the main arcades in Europe on your map.

I did not know that, you have my deepest respect! The whole reason I am more actively involved in arcade is that I want to contribute my part of keeping this alive and showing younger generation what this is. Not to be nostalgic and tell them they good old days were much butter but cause arcade gaming is a fun and exciting experience sharing that with other. It is old and it is new, it is an experience that has been lost and needs to get more attention.

About the text, we would rather like something like "Arcade Belgium is an unincorporated association founded in 2003 to promote coin operated video games. Their website features worldwide arcade news, charts, trade show reports, an event agenda, game tips, places to play arcade games in Belgium and community forums with second hand arcade market."
