| I heard from friends...
Isn' t it so that you need an invitation to get in? Is there a Daytona 2 machine present? _________________ http://www.geocities.com/arcadia_amusements

| I don't think that you need an invitation. By the way, if there's any problem, saying that you're working for the "coin-op collector" should be enough since they know about it. I don't think there will be a Daytona USA 2 showcased machine there, I'm more thinking about OutRun 2SP but who knows. But it might be the opportunity to ask them how much they sell used Daytona 2 machines... _________________ Visit the website. | |

| Strange indeed... They sent me a mail telling me I was welcome but I wasn't aware of the required invitation. I'll update the news then. | |

| turns out they didn't check our invite as they already know my face, but an hour later a guy arrived and there was a lot of talk between the boss and a salesman and they went to him and talked to him and made him leave........so I think if they don't know you they'll be diffcult. The first time I went there they weren't too friendly until i bought 500 euro of parts, then I got a big smile!
daytona 2 price is 6500 by the way

You'll got it! I got my camera with me. BTW, taking photos while driving isn't easy, don't try this in real life! - nikky wrote:

The first time I went there they weren't too friendly until i bought 500 euro of parts, then I got a big smile! So they threw people out of the room??? Wow! Yes, they weren't checking the invitations. Big smile too. It has not always been this way for me either. I remember the first time I went there. It was some years ago (I was younger ofcourse), I wanted to buy push buttons for my MVS cabinet. For those who've never been there; when you enter, you're facing the showroom, the welcome desk is on the right and the technical corner is at the back, hidden behind a wall on the left side of the room. So when you're at the welcome desk you have to pass through the showroom to reach the technician. I came there with Sophie and asked at the welcome desk if they sold that type of button. A girl guided us to the technician by waving her arms and saying "You go STRAIGHT froward to that corner. Straight forward!" like saying "Hey children, don't stop halfway in the showroom to try playing something!" Ha ha! I know we're looking younger than we really are (and Sophie is rather pleased about it but that was a good one. But I understand her. If I was working at Namusco I wouldn't want to see people coming to play the games. They're arcade rooms for that. And they're surely often bothered by people who come only to play the games for free without buying any machine. Last year, a guy I know at Namco sent a mail to Namusco to told them about our website. Since then, we're welcome there! They're all very kind people once you know them. - nikky wrote:

Yes, but that's for the deluxe version, don't know about the twin... _________________ Visit the website.

| I know that feeling, now I come there for 3 years but it still is an adventure sometimes.. Last year I was there on friday afternoon, half an hour before they closed.. Got yelled at (in french) because they were very busy and operators go before private persons.. but when I had to pay 150 euros for parts I got a smile and an answer in dutch.. 2 years ago I even played a game on a new pinball machine and was asked to stop with it playing, as it bothered the people who worked there.. And the old guy who sold parts (Victor, now retired) was also sometimes difficult to work with. Once I needed 2 pieces of a pinball machine part. He looks in the computer, and answers me 'we still have 2 in stock, but I can only sell you 1, the other I keep for my clients'. OK I can understand the good clients come first.. but it sucked as I needed 2 pieces of it But as you say, once they know you and see you buy regulary then you are ok.. | |

Yes, I remember of Victor. "I would like one like this, please.", "Here it is!", "Hey, it's not the same at all...", "And then, what's the matter?". - Aeneas wrote:

I didn't say that (it's true that some operators told me the same thing as you). But I never bought anything and they are always very kind with us. We all know that the arcade business is not doing well, the last few years were the worse period, I think that stressed people working in that business. I think they were affraid of loosing their job or something. After all, last year saw the closure of Brabo's amusement division. It was Namusco's best customer. Nowadays are happier days (a bit) and everyone's mood is better. That's my opinion. _________________ Visit the website.

| Yes, 6500 without BTW. But it's for a deluxe cabinet with a 50" screen, not a twin. I think that the cheapest you can find a Daytona 2 twin should be around 2000 €. _________________ Visit the website. | |
